Why track asthma control?
Tracking your weekly AST scores helps you and your doctor see your asthma control over time. This information helps you know when you need a doctor's visit or a change in your asthma treatment.
What is an Asthma Symptom Tracker (AST)?
The AST consists of five questions and each question is designed to assess patient asthma severity.

How AST scores are calculated?
Each answer to the AST has a number associated with it. The AST score is the sum of each answer.
By adding all the answers in this AST we get a score of 21. (5 + 3 + 5 + 4 + 4 = 21)

What is the purpose of the chart?
Each AST score you receive is automatically plotted on a chart to help you track your asthma progress over time.
This an example of 12 AST scores in which the scores are along the y-axis and time is along the x-axis.

What are the recommendations?
As your AST scores are recorded a custom recommendation is generated based on your asthma progress.
These are all four possible recommendations based on AST scores
